Your Cassa-plantain, Our Fufu

Your Chow, Our Mashke

As a boarder at Nungua Senior High, life wasn't as easy as i thought it would be. There were times when i had a lot of provisions in my trunk which meant i was the "Oga" of the dormitory and there were times when i was the "hustler" searching for provisions from the juniors during a time we called #the_halla_season😖. Who say man no broke before😂😂.

I recall how my colleagues would rush to the dining hall during what we called "Kenkey and Gas"  Thursdays and kenkey with pepper and fish on Monday evenings just to "smuggle" some kenkey from the dining hall to the dormitory for "chows" after preps. As soon as the bell rung for preps to end, eiii!! Aggressive strategy boys dey take😂😂.

Some will rush to the senior housemaster's house to buy one cedi bread while others headed straight to the junior's dorm to get some "equipment"(milk powder or tin, sugar, spoon and cup) ready for their evening mashke.
Boys would get a big bowl and put the kenkey(without removing the corn husks) and add some water. They'd mash the kenkey with their bare hands using the husks to smoothen the kenkey.
When the mashing process was done, the chow session took over. Goodies such as nido, milo, sugar, cornflakes and the likes were added to the mashed kenkey for more flavor and enjoyed with the one cedi bread. Mind you if you wanna enjoy any meal in the dormitory you've gotta hide else "scateeee" go barb you. In other words, enjoy it at a quiet place where other boarders can't come have a taste😆
You can't be a boarder without being greedy at some instances like these ooo charle😂😂.

Guys listen ooo......

I haven't regretted and i will never regret staying in the boarding house😜😜
